Pantone, the global colour authority, the provider of professional colour language standards as well as digital color solutions for the design community, announced PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer as the Pantone Color of the Year 2026.
”An ethereal white hue, PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer serves as a symbol of calming influence in a frenetic society rediscovering the value of measured consideration and quiet reflection”, says the press release. The choice reflects the world around us. “We are living in a transitional time where people are seeking truth, possibility, and a new way of living," states Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute.
As the process of making the choice of the Pantone Color of the Year involves many specialists and points of view, there is always a lot of speculation and discussion around the outcome. To call the chosen shade ‘the color’ of the year sounds slightly misleading as it is always a choice among a variety of shades within a colour or colour family.
